Pawłowice is a small municipality in the southern part of the voivodeship which lies on the communication link connecting Katowice and Wisła. Road investments are thus a substantial element within the municipality's development, contributing to the improvement of quality of communication and decreasing the intensity of traffic within the territory of the municipality. Such an investment has been planned for Pawłowice in the form of a bypass connecting the voivodeship roads no. 938 and 933 with national road 81.

Why was the project undertaken?

Three strategic objectives were in place in the course of construction of the bypass of Pawłowice town:

1. Connecting the towns: Wodzisław Śląski, Pszów, Rydułtowy, Godów, Mszana, Jastrzębie-Zdrój and Pawłowice – as part of the Main Southern Road,
2. Unburdening the local traffic in the town of Pawłowice,
3. Building a new stretch of voivodeship road no. 933 combining agglomeration of western and eastern parts of the Silesian Voivodeship.

What has been achieved?

The bypass was handed over for use in November 2016, contributing subsequently to the improvement of technical parameters, conditions and safety of road traffic as well as eliminating transit traffic and unburdening the local traffic in the territory of Pawłowice.

Who uses/benefits from the effects of the project?

Benefits stemming from the bypass will be noticed both by the inhabitants of the municipality Pawłowice and persons from outside of the municipality-through local traffic connecting the adjoining agglomerations.

What are the main benefits of the project?

• improvement of traffic safety,
• introducing transit traffic from the town centre of Pawłowice,
• arranging and improving the conditions of communication between the factories located within the municipalities.
